The Code of Good Governance and Institutional Quality of the Barcelona Provincial Council, approved by the Plenary Session of the Corporation on 30 March 2017, sets out the principles and commitments that the institution must uphold in relation to its stakeholders. It also provides guidance on the standards of conduct expected of all personnel serving the Corporation, with the aim of increasing transparency in public management and fostering ethical and socially responsible behaviour.

The Code provides for its implementation through the development of specific guidelines and codes of conduct for different groups within the organization. These documents define the behaviours and practices required to comply with the principles and commitments of good governance established by the Code.
