The Code of Conduct for Elected representatives and Professional Managerial Staff of the Barcelona Provincial Council, approved by Resolution of the Plenary Session of the corporation on 30 March 2017, complies with legal Transparency regulations in order to prevent and avoid the occurrence or recurrence of conduct that does not conform to the values, ethical principles and rules of conduct established by the institution.

Under the Code, persons subject to its provisions may not accept invitations to meals or events that are unrelated to the performance of their institutional duties.

The Code of Conduct applies to:

1. Members of the corporation, in their capacity as elected representatives, regardless of whether or not they are part of the governing bodies.
2. The heads or members of the governing bodies of autonomous bodies, public business entities and companies wholly owned by the Barcelona Provincial Council.
3. Holders of professional managerial positions within the Barcelona Provincial Council and its instrumental entities, identified as such in the corresponding job classification.
4. Within autonomous bodies, public business entities and companies wholly owned by the Barcelona Provincial Council, without prejudice to any adaptation they may make of its provisions to their institutional and public service context.
